Job description

Bioprocess Associate / Scientist
Education - Minimum Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of relevant industry experience in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of aseptic techniques and general bioprocess controls.
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting automated bioprocess equipment, such as bioreactors, tangential flow filtration (TFF) systems, homogenizers, and related equipment.
  • Ability to follow established SOPs and appropriately escalate equipment or process issues.
  • Understanding of common analytical technologies used for biomass measurement, metabolite analysis, and off-gas analysis.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.
Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Hands-on experience with ambr250, bench-scale, or pilot-scale bioreactors.
  • Familiarity with downstream unit operations and basic protein purification concepts sufficient to perform routine operations and sample handling.
  • Experience with design of experiments, data analysis, and data visualization tools to support process optimization.
  • Experience supporting process scale-up or scale-down activities.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, such as cGMP, supporting biomanufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and analyze fermentation experiments at multiple scales, including mini bioreactors, benchtop bioreactors, and pilot-scale systems, while ensuring high-quality and reproducible results.
  • Perform downstream processing operations, including lysis, clarification, and recovery, to deliver materials that meet established quality and yield specifications.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of experimental work and process data in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot routine bioprocess operational issues to support consistent, reliable, and robust performance.
  • Escalate and collaborate with senior team members on more complex equipment or process issues.
  • Provide general laboratory support, including routine lab maintenance, supply stocking, equipment upkeep, and addressing safety and compliance actions.
  • Follow and promote laboratory safety, compliance, and operational best practices while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
