Biophysics Remote information

What are biophysics remote jobs?

Biophysics remote jobs are positions that allow professionals to work from home or outside a traditional lab setting while conducting research, data analysis, or simulations related to the physical principles underlying biological systems. These roles often involve computational modeling, bioinformatics, or theoretical research, leveraging technology to collaborate with teams virtually. Remote biophysicists may work for universities, research institutes, biotech companies, or healthcare organizations, contributing to advancements in fields like drug discovery, structural biology, and medical imaging.

What is a typical biophysics salary?

The average salary for a biophysicist varies depending on experience, education, and location, but typically ranges from $70,000 to $120,000 annually. Entry-level positions may start lower, while experienced professionals with advanced skills or specialized tools can earn higher salaries, especially in research or industry settings.

Who hires biophysics remote?

Biophysics remote positions are typically hired by research institutions, biotech companies, pharmaceutical firms, and academic organizations that conduct scientific research and development. These roles often require strong analytical skills, knowledge of biological systems, and proficiency with data analysis tools, and they may be available on various remote job boards and company career pages.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a biophysics remote professional?

To thrive as a Biophysics Remote professional, you need a strong background in physics, biology, mathematics, and computational modeling, often supported by an advanced degree in biophysics or a related field. Proficiency with data analysis software, molecular modeling tools (such as PyMOL or MATLAB), and remote collaboration platforms is typically required. Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective virtual communication are crucial soft skills for success in a remote setting. These skills and qualifications ensure you can conduct complex research, collaborate across disciplines, and drive scientific discovery while working remotely.

What are some common challenges faced by biophysicists working remotely and how can they be addressed?

Biophysicists working remotely often face challenges related to limited access to specialized laboratory equipment and direct experimental collaboration. To address these issues, many remote biophysicists focus on computational modeling, data analysis, and collaborating with lab-based colleagues through virtual meetings and cloud-based data sharing. It's important to establish clear communication routines with your team and leverage remote access tools to maintain productivity. Participating in regular virtual seminars or journal clubs can also help you stay connected to the latest research and maintain a sense of community.

Is biophysics in demand?

Biophysics is a growing field with increasing demand in research institutions, healthcare, and biotechnology companies. Professionals with skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and knowledge of biological systems are sought after as interdisciplinary science advances.

Job description

This role is for one of our clients
Compensation: $80 - $110 per hour
Join a leading AI research initiative developing the next generation of AI systems for scientific reasoning. We are seeking accomplished Biology & Biophysics Research Collaborators to help advance AI models capable of reasoning across complex life science disciplines at the level of active researchers-not textbooks.
This opportunity is ideal for researchers with expertise in molecular biology, biophysics, structural biology, immunology, neuroscience, genomics, and related life science disciplines. Your research experience will directly contribute to improving AI systems that solve advanced scientific problems through rigorous biological reasoning.
This is a remote, part-time engagement requiring up to 20 hours per week.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate biology and biophysics research papers for scientific rigor, novelty, and validity.
  • Design and review challenging biology and biophysics problems used to train and evaluate advanced AI models.
  • Assess AI-generated solutions involving:
    • Biological mechanism prediction
    • Experimental design
    • Scientific literature interpretation
    • Research methodology and scientific reasoning
  • Identify reasoning errors and scientific gaps that experienced life science researchers would readily recognize.
  • Provide detailed, evidence-based written feedback to improve AI model performance.
  • Collaborate with fellow researchers and project teams to ensure consistency and quality across evaluation tasks.

Required Qualifications
We're seeking researchers who demonstrate several of the following:
  • First-author or co-first-author publications in leading journals such as:
    • Nature
    • Science
    • Cell
    • PNAS
    • eLife
    • The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM)
    • Nature Methods
    • Nature Medicine
    • Nature Biotechnology
    • Nature Communications
  • PhD or postdoctoral training from a globally recognized institution in the life sciences or a related STEM discipline.
  • Recipient of prestigious fellowships or research awards such as:
