The Nursing Technician performs basic nursing care and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Healthcare Provider (CPR) or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a practical nursing program or a student currently enrolled in a professional nursing program, or previous experience working with patients, or one quarter of clinical experience as a student nurse, or successful completion of a nurse aide course, or experience from a related health care field preferred.
Area of Responsibilities
Demonstrates behaviors necessary for age-specific care and knowledge of decision making process for all ages of population(s) served.
Documentation is in compliance with hospital policy and procedure and other regulatory agencies.
Effectively understands and operates basic equipment used routinely on the unit.
Performs basic patient care attending to physical and emotional needs of the patient in a family oriented environment.
Requires regular contact with other people in or out of the department, but of a very routine nature, requiring courtesy, tact and diplomacy. Teamwork is an essential part of the nurse technician's role.
Compliance Statement
