Full-Time, Hybrid
8:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Summary:
Analyze Biomedical equipment purchase and service contracts to assure the organization achieves standardization of equipment along with an effective, centralized quality service/support process. Analyze and develop service agreements aligned with the most effective service option (in-house, OEM, 3rd party, Time & Materials).
Responsibilities:
• Managing meetings with Clinical Area Stakeholders to collaborate on existing Biomedical device maintenance contracts and service renewal options across the organization for opportunities to improve service and optimize costs for the organization.
• Managing Biomedical equipment Service Contracts including facilitating negotiations, terms and conditions, changes and termination where required.
• Participate in the coordination of the selection and acquisition of medical equipment for the organization, collaborating with Clinical areas as a Biomedical equipment support subject matter expert for capital equipment planning, purchase and integration to best meet clinical needs.
• Manage Biomedical Device Vendors and Service Organizations to assure SLA's are met and quality of service is achieved.
• Develop and maintain the medical equipment transition plan including de-installation, packing, delivery, and installation of all items as appropriate.
• Coordinate equipment training/support training for Akron Children's Hospital (ACH) staff.
• Equipment installation to include but not limited to; discussing contract requirements and concerns with the architect/engineer and contractor; identifying the site requirements, preparing cost analysis and justifications.
• Managing Clinical Engineering project timelines and monitoring installation.
Other information:
Technical Expertise:
• The Biomedical Equipment Contract Analyst demonstrates a working understanding of engineering disciplines including electronics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, information technology/networking, human anatomy, and physiology.
• Knowledgeable about both local and national public safety and regulatory issues, develops and maintains current access to expert knowledge of evolving and emerging medical technologies and provide consultation to clinicians and leadership.
• Successfully solve organization-level customer service issues and complaints. Experience and knowledge of Service management models and vendors.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering related discipline preferred.
• 5 years of experience in clinical engineering or related engineering practice preferred
• Lean Six Sigma certified preferred
• Project management skills & experience preferred
• Strong communication and coordination across functional areas.
• In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission standards and other applicable regulatory agencies.
• Possesses basic understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology.
• Familiarity with clinical operations and healthcare facilities.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of clinical equipment such as radiological, laboratory and network medical systems.
• Possesses comprehensive understanding and skills related to general electro-mechanical systems and devices.
• Possesses a valid State driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain insurability as determined by the ACH insurance carrier's requirements.
• An annual physical is required to be completed with the Akron Children's Hospital Employee Health Department.
