Job description

Leading Bryan County area manufacturing facility is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer You will prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with our Production Team to understand production challenges and design strategies to solve them
  • Make assembly models, drawings, 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks
  • Make and revise Machine Manual and Technical Specs
  • Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials
  • Write non-conformity reports stating problems that may arise in the field or in production
  • Test and modify design solutions until product is ready for approval and installation in the manufacturing environment
  • Occasionally travel to client site to problem solve design challenges in the field

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Mechanical Design
  • Familiarity with CAD or other related software (SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes required such as Metal Cutting, Bending, Welding and Machining
  • Knowledge of materials for mechanical design such as pins, bushings, bearings, gears, cables, cylinders and springs
  • Basic knowledge of strength of materials required
