Job description

The QC Chemist will be responsible for sampling and testing raw materials, products in mid-production, and finished products. The Chemist will evaluate raw materials that arrive to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications. Primary duties are to measure and test lab materials and products according to industry-specific standard procedures. We are a contract manufacturer for dietary supplements and sports nutrition products.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


 The following responsibilities would characterize the requirements of this position. Must possess the skills necessary to perform the majority of the listed functions:

  1.  Review and approve the documentation setting forth the basis for qualification of any supplier
  2. Prepare compounds, test solutions, and reagents to conduct tests and experiments, then advising and coordinating on test procedures
  3. Determine the relationships of chemical and physical properties, composition, and structures 
  4. Develop, improve and customize equipment, products, formulas, analytical methods, and processes
  5. Document findings in technical papers and reports, preparing specifications, and testing standards
  6. Clean and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
  7. Making sure that all the technology is working correctly 
  8. Conduct quality control tests to ensure no compounds or equipment are contaminated
  9. Order laboratory supplies and chemicals, keeping an eye on expiration dates
  10. Follow all company and governmental safety procedures
  11. Create thorough reports on tests and your findings
  12. Evaluate testing protocols and suggest improvements
 
REQUIREMENTS:


Competencies
 
  1. Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical or related field is required
  2. Hands-on experience a must with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICPMS). And High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) machinery is a plus
  3. Strong background in Food Science and Chemistry is highly desirable
  4. Previous experience working in biotechnology, or research laboratory is preferred
  5. Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry principles
  6. Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry methods
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely
  9. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  10. Familiarity with regulatory guidelines 
  11. Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory protocols
  12. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  13. Bilingual Mandarin Preferred
