AI & Bioinformatics Programmatic Technical Advisor

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an AI & Bioinformatics (Digital Health) Programmatic Technical Advisor to support multiple biomedical R&D innovation programs with a focus on leveraging digital tools and machine learning and AI methods. In this role, you'll apply expertise in AI algorithm development, mathematical modeling, mathematical biomedicine, or bioengineering. You will also apply leverage expertise in AI algorithm development and modeling for use in biomedical image analysis, multimodal data analysis, Pk/Pd modeling, or advanced AI-based data analytics approaches applied to biological, clinical, or patient data. You will thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and program execution and be motivated to accelerate the development of life-saving medical countermeasures.

As part of our team, you'll work with world-class scientists, technical experts, and public health professionals to support enabling technologies. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success. Our client supports the advanced research and development (R&D) of medical countermeasures (MCMs) to protect Americans and respond to 21st-century national health security threats. They employ a comprehensive portfolio approach to address the public health consequences of CBRN events, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.

What You'll Work On:

  • Partner with a Project Officer to design, execute, and manage complex R&D programs.
  • Help shape strategy, define technical direction, and operationalize programs from concept through execution.
  • Provide feedback on diagnostics development approaches, including research and development plans as well as regulatory and clinical strategies.
  • Participate in Market Research efforts.
  • Conduct deep landscape analyses, including literature, market, and stakeholder engagement to identify emerging technologies, gaps, opportunities and potential players.
  • Translate insights into actionable program strategies and funding priorities.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of program management, including acquisition package development, topic development, proposal evaluation, contract oversight, and performance monitoring across a portfolio of performers.
  • Provide scientific and technical insight across a portfolio of innovations focused on improving national health security.
  • Perform additional duties related to programmatic support for MCM as assigned.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in the development of biomedical programs utilizing mathematical modeling and AI-based algorithms
  • Experience in digital health and bioinformatics
  • Experience in one or more programming languages such as R, Python, or Matlab
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Master's degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Biological Science

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in development of biomedical programs utilizing mathematical modeling, AI-based algorithms, and biological or clinical data analysis
  • Experience in program or project management within a relevant scientific, engineering, or biomedical field
  • Knowledge of the AI-based digital health space and market, and various AI models, such as neural networks, random forest, machine learning
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives including development of program materials, briefings, and stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail, develop models, and evaluate existing models
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate under tight timelines, and pivot quickly in a dynamic collaborative environment
  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively across various stages of their lifecycle with minimal oversight
  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced environment and maintain diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables
  • Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Doctorate degree inBioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or Biological Science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
