Responsibilities and Duties

Develop and maintain usability engineering documentation, including use-related risk analyses, task analyses, user profiles, use specifications, and human factors engineering reports.

Plan, conduct, and oversee human factors validation (summative) studies, including protocol development, participant recruitment, study moderation, data analysis, and report generation.

Review product labeling, instructions for use (IFUs), training materials, and user interfaces to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability.
Required knowledge, skills, and experiences
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in human factors engineering, usability engineering, user experience research, or a related discipline.

Knowledge of FDA Human Factors Guidance(2016 & 2026), IEC 62366-1, ISO 14971, and applicable usability engineering principles.

Experience with combination products, drug delivery devices, digital health technologies, surgical systems, or other regulated medical devices.

Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $84,900.00 - $212,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
