Job description

Description
Performs varied routine tasks involving preventative maintenance and repairs on select categories of medical devices; assists medical/nursing staff in the operation/use of equipment and maintaining equipment management program and inventories
Essential Functions:
  • Provides training for new equipment, processes and procedures
  • Performs preventive maintenance according to procedures, protocols, and schedules
  • Adheres to all codes, regulations, TJC standards and department policies and procedures.
  • Performs inspections according to manufacturer's recommendations
  • Maintains a working knowledge to maintain assigned equipment
  • Diagnoses, repairs and resolves equipment problems
  • Uses available test equipment to verify operation of medical devices
  • Completes work orders within established timeframes
  • Maintains and operates department equipment in a manner consistent with the manufacturer's instructions; tests equipment, calibrates and recertifies and maintains shop supplies and parts, maintains and updates parts inventories
  • Completes and inputs documentation for work assignments promptly and accurately
  • Responds to emergency calls for equipment maintenance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
    • 1 year of recent biomedical experience preferred
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required
    • Associates Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics preferred
