Work Flexibility: Hybrid

We are hiring a Senior Engineer to join our New Product Development team within the R&D department for Stryker's Sage business unit. This role will involve the design and development of new medical devices that support the mission of Sage - creating simple interventions with extraordinary outcomes. The individual will be involved in the entire product development cycle from concept to launch, working closely with other disciplines within R&D to ensure products are developed effectively, safely and efficiently. This individual will support the technical engineering lead through component development, prototyping, benchtop testing, CAD, writing test protocols and reports and routing change orders.

This a hybrid based role in Cary, IL.

What You Will Do

  • Research, design, develop, modify, and verify mechanical components and modules for medical devices with minimal supervision.
  • Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and produce subsystem-level designs.
  • Prototype and analyze design solutions to validate concepts and performance.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Create and refine engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with design control procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams.
  • Understand product use and clinical procedures to inform design strategy and decisions.
  • Support regulatory compliance by following industry standards, risk management, and quality system requirements.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in mechanical engineering practices and design principles.
  • Ability to create engineering drawings and models using GD&T and CAE tools.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools, preferably Creo.
  • Experience communicating technical plans and information to cross-functional teams

United States of America Pay Ranges:

  • US10: $85,500 - $142,500 USD Annual
