Job description

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies the BMET has the responsibility of minimizing all risks and supports both patient related and non-patient related equipment by installing, safety testing, calibrating, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing biomedical equipment with minimal supervision; trains users; and maintains safe operations. Comprehensive knowledge level and experienced in most or all facets of job. 

Education: Associates Degree in Biomedical, Computer, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Manufacturer training or Military training required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement).

Licensure/Certification: Certification in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology (CBET) is strongly preferred.

Experience: Two to five years of related experience required.

Skills: Strong technical skills and knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment. Ability to repair and maintain basic and general biomedical equipment. Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, ODH, CMA, NFPA, etc.)
