Job description

Assistant Professor of Exercise Science โ€“ Biomechanics at Utah Tech University (Saintโ€ฏGeorge,โ€ฏUT). Fullโ€‘time, tenureโ€‘track position starting Fall Semesterโ€ฏ2025. Salary range $63,000โ€”$66,000 per year. Job Numberโ€ฏ25FAC740โ€‘1.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 24 credits per academic year, primarily inโ€‘person with online options. Instruction may include classroom/lab teaching and/or internship supervision. Courses may include but are not limited to Biomechanics, Quantitative Biomechanics, Clinical Biomechanics, Measurement & Statistics, and other Exercise Science related courses.
  • Design curriculum and create student experiences/internships reflective of the Universityโ€™s theme of active learning and active life.
  • Hold regular office hours, attend department meetings, vote on department issues, and advise on student assessment as needed.
  • Serve on university, college, and department committees and engage in community, university, departmental, program, and professional discipline service activities.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities resulting in the sharing of knowledge through teaching, presentations, publications, and other appropriate outlets.
  • Develop and maintain supporting relationships with community, state, national, and international organizations.
  • Advise and prepare students for credentialing/licensure exams through ACSM, NSCA, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field required; ABD candidates considered. Preference for specialty or degree in Biomechanics.
  • Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels (finalists will demonstrate competence via a teaching demonstration).
  • Evidence of clinical or sportโ€‘performance workโ€‘related experience in exercise science strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships with faculty, administrators across disciplines, and external organizations.
  • Evidence of scholarship (refereed publications, paper presentations, abstracts, etc.).
Compensation & Benefits

Fullโ€‘time (9โ€‘month) tenureโ€‘track faculty position. Annual salary $63,000โ€”$66,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with optional summer/overload teaching compensation available.
