Responsibilities are basic and routine in nature. This may include performing administrative duties in an office, assisting in a research laboratory, aid faculty/staff in supporting academic programs or patient care. Duties will be clear and direct. The Student Assistant will require excellent customer service and strong organizational skills and will represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
Responsibilities are basic and routine in nature and are designed to support ongoing clinical and experimental research. Duties are clear, direct, and performed under close supervision of faculty and senior research personnel. Position responsibilities include:
  • Support senior personnel in both clinical research in humans and experimental research in rodent models
  • Assisting with lab-based research activities following established protocols and conducting routine experiments under supervision, including basic biochemical and analytical procedures
  • Utilizing and maintaining laboratory instrumentation, including spectrophotometry and HPLC
  • Collecting, processing, labeling, and preserving biological specimens
  • Performing accurate data entry, organization, and collation using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Performing basic administrative or office duties as needed to support research and assisting with lab organization, inventory, and compliance-related tasks
  • Providing professional and courteous interactions with faculty, staff, students, and research participants, demonstrating excellent customer service skills
