Working under the direction of the Center Director, faculty investigators, and designated research and administrative leadership, the analyst will help develop the Center's emerging research infrastructure and contribute to assigned clinical, translational, and data-driven projects.
Primary responsibilities include scientific literature review, data preparation and analysis, grant and manuscript support, pilot-project planning, development of preliminary data, preparation of abstracts and presentations, and coordination of research activities across multidisciplinary teams. Depending on project needs and the successful candidate's expertise , assignments may involve clinical data, genomics, bioinformatics, multiomics , metabolomics, infectious or environmental exposures, and responsible applications of artificial intelligence or machine learning in biomedical research.
This is a staff research-support position. The Research Program Analyst will not function as an independent investigator, principal investigator, research scientist, faculty member, or postdoctoral fellow. Scientific priorities, study design, analytic plans, interpretation, and dissemination will be established or approved by the responsible faculty investigator.
Responsibilities
- Support faculty-led research projects from planning through analysis and dissemination; maintain project plans, timelines, decision records, deliverables, and organized research files.
- Conduct structured literature searches and reviews; synthesize scientific evidence and prepare concise summaries, background sections, annotated references, and research briefings.
- Prepare, clean, document, and analyze assigned datasets using appropriate statistical or computational methods under an approved analytic plan.
- Develop reproducible data workflows, code, tables, figures, data dictionaries, and technical documentation; perform data-quality checks and communicate limitations or concerns.
- Assist faculty investigators with grant development, including opportunity research, background materials, preliminary-data summaries, proposal components, graphics, references, internal timelines, and coordination with research administrators and collaborators.
- Contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, posters, presentations, progress reports, and other scholarly products through analysis, drafting, editing, formatting, reference management, and coordination of coauthor input.
- Support planning and implementation of pilot studies and collaborative projects, including collection and organization of preliminary data for future funding applications.
- Assist with research documentation and operational requirements, such as protocol materials, data-management plans, IRB-related documents, data-use requests, regulatory files, training records, and approved research systems, under the direction of investigators and appropriate compliance personnel.
- Coordinate research meetings and collaborations involving faculty, research staff, trainees, patients or community partners, institutional units, and external organizations; document decisions and follow up on assigned actions.
- Help develop standard operating procedures, templates, trackers, shared resources, and reporting tools that strengthen the Center's research infrastructure and continuity.
- Perform other research, analytical, and program-development duties consistent with the scope and level of the position.
- Assist with processing, labeling, aliquoting, and storing blood and tissue specimens according to established laboratory protocols; maintain accurate sample documentation, support quality-control procedures, and ensure compliance with biosafety, infection-control, and research requirements.

- At least 2 years of relevant experience in biomedical or health research, research data analysis, bioinformatics, research program support, or a closely related area. Relevant graduate education may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement, subject to Human Resources review.
- Experience using at least one statistical, programming, or data-analysis environment such as R, Python, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, or a comparable platform, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific literature, organize complex information, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate analytical findings clearly.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, written communication, and collaborative skills, with careful attention to data quality, confidentiality, and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing and analyzing clinical, genomic, omics, survey, registry, or other complex biomedical datasets.
- Experience with reproducible research practices, version control, databases, REDCap , Qualtrics, reference-management software, data visualization, or research collaboration platforms.
