POSITION SPECIFICS
We are seeking to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Bioinformatician to join our team. The successful candidate will support the analysis and interpretation of biological data, with a focus on genomics, transcriptomics, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis of high-throughput biological data including transcriptome, epigenome, spatial omics data, proteome.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines and workflows.
  • Interpret and visualize complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with biologists, clinicians, and data scientists to support research projects.
  • Document methods, analyses, and results clearly and reproducibly.
  • Assist in maintaining databases and data management systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging bioinformatics tools and methodologies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of molecular biology and genomics.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or similar.
  • Familiarity with command-line environments (Linux/Unix).
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., BLAST, FASTA/Q processing tools).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred and additional Qualifications
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis.
  • Familiarity with workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow).
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
  • Analysis of microbiome is desirable.
  • Some wet lab experience while not required is desirable.
  • Prior internship, research project, or industry experience in bioinformatics.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $44,628.00 - $64,668.00.
