The Role
We are seeking a Part-Time Associate Licensed Clinician (APCC or ACSW) in California to join our multidisciplinary team as a Mind-Gut Specialist. You will provide specialized virtual care for adults, utilizing gut-directed protocols to break the cycle of stress and digestive symptoms.
No prior GI experience? No problem. We provide comprehensive training on gut-directed therapy for skilled clinicians with experience in CBT/ACT.
What You'll Do
  • Direct Clinical Care: Deliver gut-directed psychotherapy (primarily CBT and ACT) via our HIPAA-compliant virtual clinic.
  • Integrated Treatment: Collaborate with a clinical team of GI-focused dietitians and medical providers to provide whole-person care.
  • Advocacy & Education: Help clients adjust beliefs and behaviors to manage DGBI symptoms and develop long-term coping strategies.
  • Program Innovation: Contribute to the refinement of SideBy Care's clinical protocols and client education materials.
Requirements (Qualifications)
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted associate mental health license in California (APCC / ACSW or equivalent) is required.
  • Credentials: Must have an active NPI (CAQH login preferred).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience delivering evidence-based therapies (CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing).
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient with EMR systems, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly explain the gut-brain connection to clients with empathy and clinical precision.
Preferred Skills
  • 1+ years of experience with somatic or gut-brain specific therapies.
  • Experience working alongside medical professionals in a multidisciplinary setting,
  • Demonstrated awareness of Silicon Valley nutrition and wellness trends, including longevity/anti-aging protocols, GLP-1 microdosing, intermittent/prolonged fasting, biohacking/nutrigenomics.
