Lead Biofuels Technician
Location: Cambria, WI
Compensation: $34–$39 per hour
Shift: Wednesday - Friday and every other Saturday | 5:45 PM – 6:00 AM
About the RoleDidion is seeking a Lead Biofuels Technician to serve as the on-shift technical and people leader within our biofuels operations. This role is responsible for driving safe, reliable plant performance while coaching and advising team members during day-to-day operations and high-impact situations.
This position is well-suited for an experienced operator or technician with strong process knowledge, leadership capability, and the confidence to make operational decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You are the go-to leader on shift, trusted for your judgment, troubleshooting expertise, and steady decision-making, especially during abnormal or emerging conditions.
Your leadership directly contributes to performance across safety, quality, service, engagement, and financial outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership
- Champion and model Didion’s Three Safety Promises
- Lead safety culture on shift, ensuring compliance with PPE, GMPs, LOTO, and equipment standards
- Support continuous improvement in safety behaviors, procedures, and systems
Operational Excellence
- Safely start up and shut down plant operations
- Make independent operating decisions when conditions fall outside standard guidelines
- Use DCS data and lab results to troubleshoot, optimize, and stabilize processes
- Participate in planned shutdowns and lead or contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
Team Leadership & Engagement
- Direct daily work activities and provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Support hiring recommendations and workforce planning needs
- Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews
- Provide input on pay and performance decisions
- Lead high-urgency or high-impact plant initiatives, coordinating team resources as needed
Training & Development
- Mentor and train new and existing team members
- Support development of a high-performing, safety-first operations team
- Commit to continuous learning and skill development
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in biofuels, chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, or similar industrial operations
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-development capability
- Strong troubleshooting, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- High attention to detail and ownership of equipment and processes
- General computer proficiency; DCS experience preferred
- Forklift experience a plus
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently for safe and effective communication
