Location: Indianapolis, IN 46077

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Description

We are seeking a Biology Lab Technician to join our dynamic team supporting Health R&D, Mode of Action and Bioanalytical Center of Expertise in Indianapolis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in biochemistry laboratory techniques, protein expression and purification, and routine lab operations and a proven ability to execute workflows, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate across scientific disciplines.


Responsibilities:

Follow established methods and workflow charts to completion with attention to detail.

Perform biochemistry techniques, including protein expression and purification.

Manage daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory activities, including equipment monitoring, periodic cleaning, central supply and reagent management, waste handling, and general maintenance.

Document all work in an electronic laboratory notebook.

Adhere to safety culture requirements, including proper use of PPE and compliance with waste stream procedures.

Communicate progress and results to stakeholders and collaborate within a cross-functional team.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelorโ€™s degree in biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.

Hands-on laboratory experience with good documentation practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to analyze and interpret data using software tools.

Strong organization, time management, and communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.


Preferred Skills:

Experience with protein expressions in E. coli and protein purification.

Experience with data entry and data management.

Cell culture and aseptic technique.

Experience in preparing media recipes and basic microbiology techniques.


Role Logistics:

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Mondayโ€“Friday.

Shift: 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM.

Interview: Short video interview required.

Resume review required.

Onsite only. Non-local or remote candidates will not be considered.

Medical surveillance: Not required.

Common allergens/exposures: Plants, fungus, latex, chemicals.

Driving: Not required.

Special equipment: Closed-toe waterproof shoes and long pants required.
