Job description

  • Assist in and contribute to the design, execute, and analyzecomplex experiments.
  • Follow detailed protocols and help in identifying, troubleshooting, and solving problems associated with experimental protocols.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures that include but arenot limited to molecular biology, biochemical assays, and sterile tissueculture.
  • Maintain clear detailed written and digital notebooks ofexperimental design, setup, calculations and execution of laboratoryprocedures.
  • Assist with the acquisition of lab supplies, setup, upkeep,and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with mouse colony management, that includes animalhandling, care, record keeping, and performing experimental procedures. (Basicanimal care is provided by the university animal care (UAC) team, this positionis not required to do routine animal care such as cage changes, cage cleaning,food and water refilling.
  • Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
  • Assist and follow lab safety protocols and followingestablished procedures for waste material accumulation and disposal.
  • Train colleagues in the operation of equipment and orexperimental techniques.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
