Medical Technologist- PRN

The successful candidate:

***This is a PRN role- as needed dayshift.***

The Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers deliver the most optimal patient outcomes. Performs, as assigned, all required equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control testing per departmental procedures. Must be available to sign-up for on-call shifts and provide coverage for other shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Performs a variety of tasks including specimen transport, specimen processing for in-house and send-out testing for reference laboratories, answering telephone calls, reviewing pending logs, etc.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Lab Science, Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited college or university.

Associates Degree in Medical Lab Technology with HEW certification

Req. Certification/Licensure:

Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take exam. Must successfully complete certification (ASCP or AMT) within 18 months of hire.
