Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Innovation & Integration will lead innovation growth initiatives for Nippon Sanso Matheson (NSM) by acting as the primary bridge between NSM and Nippon Sanson Holdings' (NSHD) Center of Excellence (CoE) and Innovation team, accelerating commercialization of new technologies, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring alignment with NSHD's global innovation priorities. This role will not only convert Japan-originated innovation capabilities into the US market impact, but also feed US market intelligence, customer needs, and technology trends back into NSHD's global innovation strategy. In addition, this role is expected to support the expansion of new innovation-driven businesses in the US market while strengthening NSHD's global collaboration model across regions, customers, OEMs, and external ecosystems. Functionally, this role will serve as NSM's CoE Integration Lead.

Innovation Pipeline Deployment

         Identify, prioritize, and commercialize innovation opportunities aligned with NSHD "Next Innovation 2030"

         Drive execution across core growth areas:

o    Stable isotopes and bio-med

o    MOCVD and advanced electronics

o    Additive manufacturing and robotics

o    Emerging areas (fusion, quantum, data center, AI)

         Convert R&D and pilot programs into revenue-generating applications

         Support creation of scalable innovation business models for the US market

NSHD Partnership Leadership

         Serve as the primary integration leader for NSM engagement with NSHD's CoE organization and Innovation team

         Build strong working relationships with NSHD leadership (CoE, R&D, business teams)

         Ensure clear alignment, prioritization, and accountability across regions

         Translate global strategy into actionable US execution plans

Ecosystem & External Partnerships (Think Lab Model)

         Build and manage partnerships with:

o    Universities, research institutes, and consortia

o    Industrial partners, startups, and strategic collaborators

o    Semiconductor equipment OEMs and technology leaders

         Expand participation in the "Think Lab Global" ecosystem

         Establish direct access to key innovation players and market influencers

         Promote Joint Development Programs (JDP) with semiconductor equipment OEMs to accelerate advanced materials, process technology, and equipment-related innovation opportunities

Cross-Functional Execution

         Lead coordination across:

o    Commercial, operations, R&D, product, and engineering teams

         Drive JDPs, pilots, and proof-of-concepts

         Ensure resources are aligned to highest-value opportunities

         Remove barriers and accelerate decision-making

         Support cross-regional collaboration and technology integration between NSHD affiliates

Strategic Growth & Market Creation

         Identify new business models and adjacent growth opportunities

         Lead development of new revenue foundations and future growth engines

         Support expansion of new innovation-driven businesses in the US market

         Support global expansion strategies and regional localization

Success Metrics

         Revenue from new innovation-driven businesses

         Number and impact of partnerships (academic, industrial, startup)

         Speed from concept to commercialization

         Adoption of global innovation programs into the US

         Measurable contribution to NSHD growth platforms

         Expansion of strategic OEM/JDP collaborations
