Job description

Job Summary
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing and supervising plant maintenance of rendering process equipment; ensures that equipment and buildings are sanitary and in good repair with a direct report to the Plant Manager.
Work Schedule: Day Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
  • Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
  • Follows preventative maintenance schedule on all plant equipment.
  • Provides direction and leadership for the maintenance crew and daily activities and duties.
  • Trains Level 1 and Level 2 Maintenance personnel.
  • Responsible for ensuring all Company safety procedures and safe operating standards are followed by plant personnel, in accordance with OSHA.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of equipment and regularly scheduled safety inspections.
  • Manage daily inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring replacements are ordered in a timely fashion.
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory position / overseeing plant personnel in an industrial setting or in combination.
  • Proficient in basic welding and fabrication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance with industrial equipment and/or combination of vocational training

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, and welding procedures.
  • Prior rendering experience preferred.
  • Advanced welding experience/skills preferred.
  • Vocational school training preferred.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Team player; works well with others.
  • Detail oriented; well organized.
  • Good math skills.
