Job description

Summary
This position is located within the Commander Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia Beach, VA, MWR Department, Food & Beverage Division. The purpose of this position is to assist the Consolidated Club Coordinator with over-sight of the Bingo program.

Duties
Help
Assists the Club Coordinator by assigning staff to specific stations on bingo game nights. Issues banks and merchandise, and observes and certifies their verification of counts. Receives cash and merchandise back at close of shift, and verifies counts and paperwork. Ensures proper documentation of all sales and returns, if applicable. Maintains overall Bingo cash fund, and ensures proper payment and documentation of same to winners. Rings out registers and records readings of Daily Activity Records (DARs). Certifies over/under-rings and take appropriate action in accordance with MWR Central Accounting Office (CAO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintains adequate levels of all supplies, and ensures proper inventory and safeguards. Prepares purchase requests for supervisor's authorization for supply orders. Ensures proper receipt and verification of supplies received, and verifies accuracy of invoices.
Maintains all necessary files, including but not limited to: head counts per game of patrons and guests, revenue, pay outs, programs, rules and regulations, and all other documentation. Performs all aspects of program delivery on an as-need basis, to include selling cards and merchandise, calling games, making pay-outs, etc.
Ensures proper operation and maintenance of all machines, equipment and supplies. Performs general upkeep, and informs supervisor of any maintenance/repair needs. May research vendors, service providers, costs, availability, etc. for maintenance and repairs.
Ensures patron satisfaction with the program. Provides information and assistance, resolves or refers patron complaints and/or concerns. Ensures appropriate access and facilitates special needs where possible.
When not engaged in specific Bingo functions, may be assigned to assist with any other service or administrative function of the Club as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.
A qualified candidate must possess:
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of and/or training in club operations with a minimum of one year related work experience in a club environment, and a minimum 6 months of leader or shift leader experience.
  • Must possess basic Math skills to perform cash and inventory accountability accurate.
  • Must be a mature individual, who can exercise control over a large group of people to ensure good order and discipline as necessary.
  • Directly responsible to the Consolidated Club Coordinator who provides guidance and assistance. Performance is evaluated through work in progress, the appropriateness and success of the bingo program in general, and adherence to established policies and procedures. The supervisor makes assignments by defining responsibilities and program objectives. The incumbent is expected to perform all recurring assignments independently.
  • Must possess fluent command of the English language and be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be skilled in customer service techniques, tact and good judgment.
  • This position may be designated ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in the interest of national security and may be required to report for work when other employees are excused to cover mission needs.
  • As a condition of employment, the employee must be able to obtain a Health card prior to first day of work. Afterwards, must be able to successfully pass a Food Handlers Sanitation course, thereafter to be updated and maintained annually. Additionally, if alcohol is served in the assigned facility, the employee must successfully complete the annual CARE course.
  • Must possess a valid state driver license, as travel to and from facilities may be required in the performance of duties.
  • This position is subject to an irregular tour of duty, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • May be reassigned on an "as needed" basis to other food and beverage facilities to cover staff shortages.
