Job description

Position Description: A BIM Specialist, or building information modeling specialist, is a professional who oversees the creation, management, and updating of a companys (clients) BIM model. They work in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector and are responsible for implementing BIM procedures, standards and operations throughout the design, construction, and handover phases of a project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prototype Management - Creation and Maintenance:
? Creating families and organizing family libraries, while adhering to the company and client BIM standards
? Data Management: ensure consistent and accurate information is obtained
? Quality Control: identifying and correcting errors to maintain data integrity
? Maintenance: updating frequently with client revisions and design changes
? Solution oriented: assisting with problem solving for client needs within the BIM prototype model and standards
Collaborating: Working with clients, contractors, design teams, and supply chains
Training: Training team members and others (potential outside vendors) on how to use software tools
Enforcing standards: Enforcing project standards, including document creation and sharing
Creating BIM models: Some production of project information models that combine data, drawings, and schedules
Staying up to date: Keeping up with industry standards and regulations
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in architecture and/or equivalent.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a BIM coordination environment
Working knowledge of BIM software including AutoCAD, and Revit.
Develop 2D/3D construction models for use in design phase building coordination, site/underground coordination, and self-perform electrical drawings.
Work with the project team to develop 2D/3D site specific logistics.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and owners, architects, and subcontractors.
