Job description

Electrical BIM Engineer
Phoenix, AZ | Direct Hire | $92,000–$130,000 | 100% Onsite

Konik is partnering with a growing engineering firm seeking an Electrical BIM Engineer to support complex electrical design and construction projects. This role focuses on creating and managing 3D electrical models, collaborating with production and design teams, and ensuring accurate, coordinated BIM deliverables for construction site projects. This position is ideal for engineers with hands-on electrical design experience who enjoy bridging design and construction coordination.

Electrical BIM Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain 3D BIM models for panels, electrical conduits, cable trays, and instruments in support of construction projects.
  • Create and manage family files for electrical components as needed.
  • Review project specifications, master project lists, and related documentation to ensure model compliance.
  • Conduct clash detection and coordinate resolutions with design, production, and construction teams.
  • Update and manage model data, including attributes, material take-offs, and shop drawing preparation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and subcontractors to integrate BIM data across disciplines.
  • Ensure adherence to BIM standards, modeling guidelines, and electrical codes throughout the project lifecycle.

Electrical BIM Engineer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, including single-line, schematic, panel, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and standards (NEC, UL, NEMA).
  • Effective communication and coordination skills for working with customers, design teams, and subcontractors.
