Job description

The Structural Steel Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality and supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. The superintendent also maintains the job site office and closes out projects.
Responsibilities:
  • A strong, dedicated work ethic, with a track record of operating with integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an strong attention to detail.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers.
  • Strong, current knowledge of OSHA requirements, and building codes.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents, identifies and solves problems.
  • Manage labor force to achieve optimum performance.
  • Review and understand equipment budgets.
  • Monitor project costs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Execute and monitor measurable goals for team to ensure performance minimums are achieved.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Document daily construction activities including pictures of site and work in process.
  • Chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Issue and maintain short term schedules.
  • Assist Project Engineers in developing detailed schedules.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent. Must have a commercial construction experience.
  • Bachelor's degree a plus, but not required.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Suite, full computer literacy.
  • Must be available to work additional work hours after 4:30pm, nights, and weekends with possible overtime, where work may be performed at night and on weekends and be able to travel nationwide.

Salary:
  • $105,000-$165,000
  • Dependent upon experience
  • Eligibility for performance bonuses
