Job description

Project Manager โ€“ Commercial Furniture

San Francisco Bay Area | Full-Time

Join a Leading Commercial Furniture Dealership

We are working with a reputable and established commercial furniture dealership in the San Francisco Bay Area that is looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven project professional who understands the complexities of large-scale commercial furniture installations and enjoys being the key point of contact for clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of commercial furniture projects from initial planning through to successful completion. You will be highly visible to clients and will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, be comfortable working directly with clients and project stakeholders, and have a track record of managing large, complex commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial furniture projects from award through installation and completion.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with architects, designers, general contractors, dealers, manufacturers, installers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits and oversee field activities and installations.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and furniture plans.
  • Coordinate deliveries, logistics, installation teams, punch lists, and closeout activities.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, change orders, and overall project performance.
  • Identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and client expectations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within commercial furniture, interiors, workplace, construction, or a closely related environment.
  • Significant field/site experience with hands-on involvement in commercial projects.
  • Strong client-facing experience and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale commercial projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and understand furniture plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, accountable approach with a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Comfortable working on active job sites and travelling locally throughout the Bay Area as required.
  • Experience working with general contractors, architects, designers, manufacturers, and installation teams is highly desirable.

Why Join?

Youโ€™ll be joining a respected organization with an established reputation in the commercial interiors and furniture market, working on high-profile, large-scale projects across the Bay Area.

This is a role for someone who wants ownership, client interaction, and the opportunity to make a visible impact โ€” not simply manage projects from behind a desk.

If you have strong commercial furniture project management experience, thrive in the field, and are confident managing demanding clients and complex projects, we would love to hear from you.
