Job description

Position Description:

The Construction Manager is responsible for maintaining site construction productivity on the project during the construction and startup phases. The Construction Manager will work with the Design-Builder (DB) and other contractors on the site to manage logistics, safety, commissioning, workforce wellness, and inter-contractor coordination.

Position Deliverables:

  • Maintain General Conditions budget for the overall program.
  • Update and maintain project wide logistics plan.
  • Maintain a construction head count estimate and a gap analysis based on regional construction workforce. Oversee and Implement gap closing plans.
  • Based on the gap analysis, prepare and implement a workforce development program.
  • Ensure all long lead equipment purchases are identified, budgeted, and completed based on the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Work with the schedule group and Design-Builder (DB) to develop a Level three (L3) construction schedule during the Programming phase.
  • Provide constructability input for the design.
  • Develop a complete project training plan for the construction workforce.
  • Ensure proper office space is available for all stakeholders, own trailer yard and office space during construction.

Minimum Requirements & Expectations:

Education/ Experience

  • Minimum 25+ years' experience in design and construction of semiconductor or other advanced technology facilities and also as a superintendent. Engineering or construction management degree preferred.

Skills

  • Bilingual English-Korean technical speaking required.
  • Strong leadership with an emphasis on service leadership.
  • Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents required.
  • Experience collaboratively working with general and subcontractors.
  • The ability to role model collaborative behaviors for construction teams.
  • Proficiency and passion with lean construction principles including Last Planner required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience on an advanced technology construction project. Semiconductor project leadership preferred.
  • Familiarity with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), one-line diagrams (one-lines), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Construction Specifications and Standards, calculation software tools, etc. as applicable to the discipline.
  • Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities systems.
  • Ability to interpret data and prepare reports and presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Candidate must have an ability to interface with a multiple-user customer base.
  • Candidate must have the ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity.
  • Strong technical expertise in project engineering and ability to provide tactical direction to a large engineering team, both direct and matrix reporting structures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical engineering and design information and solutions to a wide audience of stakeholders.
  • Candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and have a working knowledge of Microsoft office personal computer applications.
  • Experience working with international teams preferred.
