What You Will Do:

The Billing Specialist is a detail-focused role at the center of our revenue operations. You'll own billing for an assigned segment of customers across our product platforms — generating accurate invoices based on contract terms, keeping the month-end close on schedule, and serving as a dependable point of contact for Accounting, Sales, and Client Support. This is a great role for someone who takes pride in consistent, accurate execution and wants to build deep expertise in one role rather than move around.

You will report to the VP of Billing.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Generate accurate customer invoices based on contract terms, following client-specific billing rules and team deadlines
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles
  • Respond to audit requests and ensure billing files comply with company policies and procedures
  • Help maintain and improve billing process documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Build strong working relationships with Accounting, Sales, and Client Support, communicating status and issues clearly and promptly
  • Meet all deadlines and policies consistently
  • Support finance functions outside of billing as needed
  • Contribute to a positive, accountable, collaborative team culture
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and billing experience (1+ years preferred)
  • Comfortable generating invoices from contracts and reconciling complex billing issues
  • Reliable and consistent — you show up, meet deadlines, and get the work done accurately without needing to be chased
  • Strong communicator who works well across departments and can explain billing questions clearly to non-billing colleagues
  • Strong customer service orientation; able to resolve employee and customer billing questions calmly
  • Excellent time management and high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills

Our budgeted compensation range for this opportunity is $65,000 - 70,000, commensurate with experience & skills. This position will be hybrid in our Chicago office.
