POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing Specialist manages weekly and monthly billing across multiple payer types — including Medicaid/MMIS, LTCI, VA, Private Pay, OPI, and ElderPlace — ensuring accurate, timely processing to support month-end and year-end close.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Manage and process weekly billing across all payer types, including Medicaid/MMIS, LTCI, VA/Paradigm, Private Pay, and ElderPlace, plus monthly OPI billing 

•  Enter, process, and track Client authorizations in coordination with Medicaid Case Managers 

•  Prepare, print, and mail Private Pay invoices weekly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness 

•  Support month-end and year-end close by completing all billing per Company deadlines and guidelines 

•  Coordinate with the appropriate team members to promptly resolve and reprocess billing denials 

•  Maintain accurate billing records and documentation across all payer types and branches 

•  Perform clerical duties, including sorting and filing correspondence and preparing reports as needed 

•  Cross-train on additional duties to support departmental and company operations 


ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

•  High school diploma or GED required; accounting, finance, or healthcare coursework preferred 

•  1–3 years of experience in billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or administrative support 

•  Experience with insurance billing, Medicaid/MMIS, authorizations, or claims processing preferred 

•  Proficient with Microsoft Office, data entry, and billing/accounting software 

•  Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping practices 

•  Able to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

•  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels
