Job description

FAR Consultants is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst (BA) for one of our clients in the Dallas area.

This BA will work with our Project Portfolio Delivery (PPD) team. The ideal candidates will work closely with account, program, and project managers to bring additional clarity to business problems and ensuring solution implementations meet customer expectations. The BA will be responsible for User Acceptance Testing, L5 business process documentation, and requirements projects and programs. Candidates for this position must be able to document business requirements and facilitate their decomposition into functional requirements, further broken down into technical specifications with the support of product owners and technical subject matter experts.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate business processes, gather requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and support design and implementation of solutions in collaboration with business customers and technical stakeholders.
  • Must be familiar with problemsolving methodologies like Design Thinking, Root Cause Analysis, or Theory of Inventive Problem Solving.
  • Assist in continual analyses of business processes through developing detailed work instructions (level 5) and collaboration with Business Process Management Leadership and Service Owners in creating optimization plans.
  • Familiar with modeling techniques to identify operational improvements.
  • Leverage business analysis standards and best practices as recommended by the Business Analyst Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • Stay current on BA practices, processes, and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to gather and share ideas and findings.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and traceability.
  • Lead quality assurance by facilitating UAT including writing and executing acceptance tests in advance of end users to minimize unnecessary testing cycles and time investment from the business.
  • Work with vendors and internal partners to create enduser documentation.
  • Support deployment of operating and support models.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, account management, IT and business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Serve as a persistent advocate for business requirements.
  • Monitor the delivery of functional capabilities in coordination with Project Management and Account Management.
  • Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, information management systems, a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 2 to 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or a related field.
  • PMIPBA business analysis certification or related coursework in business analysis (preferred).
  • A project management certification such as CAPM, PMIPMP, SCM, PSM, or SAFe (preferred).
  • Experience working with thirdparty vendors or contractors.
  • Ability to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Experience in a traditional waterfall, agile/scrum, and hybrid project types.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with Clarizen, Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Jira Align, Tableau, or Confluence.
  • A history of following through on commitments.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
