About the Opportunity

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Director, Facilities Operations to provide strategic leadership for integrated facilities management services across University Hospitals Health System's ambulatory care network throughout Northeast Ohio.

This is an executive-level opportunity to build and advance a comprehensive facilities management program supporting more than 300 outpatient and ambulatory care locations across the region. The Executive Director will serve as the senior facilities leader accountable for operational excellence, client partnership, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and workforce engagement across a complex, multi-site healthcare network.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and direct facilities maintenance operations across a large-scale, multi-site ambulatory care portfolio
  • Drive strategic planning and long-term facility management programs aligned with health system growth objectives
  • Serve as the primary client partner to University Hospitals leadership and operational stakeholders
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness across all locations
  • Manage operating budgets, financial forecasting, and resource planning for the facilities function
  • Oversee vendor management, contracted services, and third-party service delivery
  • Lead performance management, workforce engagement, and talent development across regional facilities teams
  • Collaborate with health system executives to develop strategies that enhance the patient experience and support organizational growth
What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, engineering operations, or integrated facilities services — healthcare or health system environment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of large, multi-site or campus-scale facilities programs
  • Deep knowledge of life safety, environmental services, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards in a healthcare setting
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets and driving cost performance
  • Proven track record in client relationship management, vendor oversight, and contracted services
  • Experience with asset management, construction work, logistics operations, and grounds/building services
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus
