WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The Mud Motor Technician II will be responsible for the assembly and disassembly of mud motors used in drilling operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mud motors.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
  • Capable of attentive listening and meticulous adherence to instructions
  • Willingness to be on standby for after-hours and weekend rotations
  • Diligently maintain cleanliness in work areas, including cleaning parts, painting motors, and removing potential hazards
  • Provide assistance in the disassembly and assembly of tools
  • Acquire proficiency in the safe and proper operation of torque units
  • Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and apply information from service manuals.
  • Competent in operating Vernier calipers
  • Under supervised guidance, dismantle motors, initiate disassembly service reports, and accurately identify the names and correct placements of all components
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of shipping and receiving processes
  • Paint and stencil tools
  • Proficient in clear and concise communication with both management and colleagues
  • Possess a foundational grasp of Quality Control (QC) procedures and processes
  • Independently execute motor disassembly tasks with competence
  • Proficiently operate and comprehend the use of various measuring equipment
  • Demonstrate proficiency in comprehending motor service manuals and accurately completing required assembly/disassembly service reports
  • Precisely identify component names and their appropriate placements during the disassembly process
  • Interpret and comprehend Rental Contracts effectively
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of bearing and power sections, including measurements, tolerances, and acceptance criteria
  • Contribute to locating parts and assembling motors during on-call situations
  • Possess a basic understanding of Dynamics and BiMiner principles

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Min. 1 year experience with drilling tools is required
  • Forklift certified, preferred
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to comprehend production requirements
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds
  • Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanner
  • Stand for long periods of time, between 8-12 hours a day
  • Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots and a hardhat
