Job description
The Department of Bible, Missions, and Ministry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track college faculty position, beginning in January 2027. The department is seeking someone to teach upper-level ministry courses, with an emphasis on Youth and Family Ministry, and general education survey courses in Bible and/or Ministry. The role will also include mentoring undergraduate students, maintaining expertise in the field through appropriate professional development, and serving on department, college, and university committees as needed. The candidate should exhibit excellence as a classroom teacher and be able to relate to a multi-ethnic student body with wide-ranging familiarity with the Bible and the Christian faith. Applications from qualified women and minorities are especially encouraged.
The successful candidate must have experience in Youth and Family ministry and an MDiv, MACM, or similar degree in religious studies. Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree (e.g., DMin, ThD, EdD, PhD) and experience in multiple types of church ministry. A scholarly research agenda, evidenced by presentations and publications, will strengthen the application even though it is not required. Similarly, the ability to teach in Spanish is not required but would support current departmental initiatives. Further information about the department is available at acu.edu/academics/biblical-studies/bible-missions-ministry/.
Applications will only be accepted on the ACU Careers site at: https://acu.edu/about/careers/. Full-Time Faculty applications must include the following document with your application:

- Please read the Identity, Mission and the Future of Abilene Christian University and provide a statement about how this document aligns with your view of the relationship of Christian faith and worldview of teaching and learning. (Required)
- A statement concerning your personal spiritual journey. (Required)
- Copies of transcripts for all academic work. (Required)
- Selected copies of papers and publications. (Required)
- *An academic letter of recommendation.
- *A letter of recommendation from a church leader. (Required)
*Please ask recommenders to send their recommendation letters directly to Dr. Carson Reed, Dean of the College of Biblical Studies, at carson.reed@acu.edu. When completing the application, you will still be required to upload a placeholder document in the recommendation letter section if your letters are being sent directly to Dr. Reed.
