Position Overview

The Contribution Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Contribution Services functional area. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, stewarding the daily production process; resolving service issues; ensuring legal compliance; providing guidance for complex marketable securities transactions; managing service level agreements, key performance indicators and team investment, development and training; and ongoing system improvement. In addition, the Contribution Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of policy and managing processes and procedures related to the Contribution Services team. Because of this leadership position, we are able to fulfill our charitable purpose as a grant making organization by mobilizing resources in a timely manner and providing an excellent customer experience.

This position is hybrid based out of the office in Alpharetta, GA.

Reports to: SVP, Donor Services

Management/Supervision: Reporting to this position are Cash Contributions Specialists, Securities Contributions Specialists, and related seasonal temps.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates service and success in team leadership, including team selection, performance evaluation, training and coaching.

2. Ensures that internal and external Service Level Agreements are met and expectations are managed with strong communication.

3. Provides oversight and guidance of publicly traded security gifts.

4. Engineers and implements ongoing system and process improvements.

5. Develops strong relationships and delivers superior client service.

6. Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports and promote NCF's mission, vision, values and goals.
  • Assists in testing system functionality during upgrades and implementations.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve processes and systems to make contributions processing more efficient.
  • Leads team meetings to report departmental information and to work with other team members to solve problems.
  • Works closely with Accounting department to reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Manages to and meets or exceeds Service Level Agreements.
  • Works closely with Legal team to ensure compliance with IRS and legal requirements.
  • Develops and maintain strong relationships with local office staff and financial advisors.
  • Collaborates with other departments on internal and external training and process development.
  • Maintains reporting of various types of contributions.

7. Personal, Spiritual, and Professional Development

  • Demonstrates a commitment to personal, spiritual and professional maturity through regular prayer, study of Scripture and other Christian learning mechanisms.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars, workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.

2. Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or other related field is required
  • Series 7 license a plus
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification a plus

3. Experience

  • A minimum of five years of related experience in managing a team in a financial services environment is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in customer service oriented environment.
  • Previous experience in administrating brokerage accounts for incoming securities, selling securities and obtaining sale confirmations is required.
  • Experience in high transaction volume environments.

4. Knowledge Base

  • Knowledge of financial industry and securities markets
  • Knowledge of IRS non-profit guidelines and filings
  • Working knowledge of charitable, non-profit, foundation, and/or donor advised funds matters
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and develop a high performing, finance team.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems (Salesforce and Stellar a plus)
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications
