Job description

Position’s Purpose

The Apprentice is a developing ministry practitioner who serves alongside the Vista One Group team by supporting research, administration, and ministry partnerships. The role is designed as a 2-year apprenticeship to cultivate best practices in Christian missions, ministry to children, and cultural engagement while contributing to prayerful, discerning stewardship for Kingdom impact.

Responsibilities

1. Research & Strategy Support - Conduct research related to assigned Areas of Focus by reviewing literature, monitoring relevant trends, summarizing research papers, journal articles, and news sources, and, when appropriate, attending conferences or participating in site visits alongside Strategy Directors. This research will support the development of giving strategies and help clarify outcomes sought by grantees.

2. Prospective Grantee Research - Research and document information on potential grantees and ministry partner projects, ensuring alignment with VOG’s Giving Guidelines, white papers, and three-year strategies.

3. Grant Outcome Review Support - Assist in reviewing outcomes and reports submitted by grantees and summarize observations related to alignment with VOG’s stated priorities and intended impact.

4. Ministry Partner Updates & Prayer Support - Review and summarize updates, reports, and news from ministry partners to support internal awareness, prayer, and celebration of God’s work through partner organizations. Support print and video communications to the board.

5. Communications & Scheduling Support - Assist Strategy Directors in preparing for ministry partner meetings and site visit itineraries.

6. Administrative & Team Support - Provide general administrative and operational support to the team as needed, including organizing documents, tracking information, and supporting internal processes.

1. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.

2. Ability to research, synthesize information, and summarize findings clearly and

concisely.

3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently, prioritize work effectively, and carry out assigned responsibilities with reliability and appropriate independence.

5. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

6. Travel, as needed, up to 30-45 days annually, nationally and internationally.

7. Willingness to work full-time at VOG’s Atlanta, GA offices and be an active part of the staff team.

Experience

1.Commissioned by Impact 360 Residency or 3 Initiative.

2. Prior experience in a ministry or service-oriented role preferred, whether in a paid or

volunteer capacity.

3. Undergraduate or Graduate coursework in theology, philosophy, biblical studies or

related field, or comparable experience that develops work knowledge of foundational

Christian doctrine and ethics.

4. Demonstrated reliability and follow-through in previous roles.

Education

1. Bachelor degree required.

2.Graduate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

3. Coursework in theology, biblical studies, philosophy, or a related field, or comparable

experience that demonstrates working knowledge of foundational Christian doctrine and ethics.
