A large heavy civil general contractor is adding a Business Intelligence Manager (BI Manager) to their team. This role can sit on a hybrid basis in Farmingdale, NY, College Point, NY or East Hanover, NJ.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced BI professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic business partnership. The successful candidate will lead an established Business Intelligence team while helping shape the organization's long-term analytics strategy, modernize enterprise reporting, and drive responsible AI adoption across the business.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will work closely with Finance, Operations, Estimating, HR, and Technology teams to build scalable reporting solutions, improve decision-making, and support continued organizational growth.

Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Manager will oversee the organization's enterprise reporting and analytics function while managing a team of Business Intelligence Analysts responsible for delivering data-driven insights across every business unit.

This role requires a strong technical foundation in Power BI and SQL, combined with proven leadership experience and the ability to communicate effectively with executive stakeholders. Beyond managing the existing BI environment, this individual will help establish the company's long-term BI roadmap and lead initiatives around AI, automation, and advanced analytics.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Business Intelligence Analysts.

  • Establish priorities, workflows, quality standards, and best practices across the BI function.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership and the Business Intelligence team.

  • Manage cross-functional reporting initiatives across Finance, Operations, Estimating, HR, Safety, and other business units.

Enterprise Reporting & Analytics
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.

  • Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and data governance across the organization.

  • Build executive dashboards and KPI reporting to support strategic decision-making.

  • Drive continuous improvements in reporting efficiency, automation, and data quality.

Data Architecture & Integration

Manage and optimize Power BI reporting architecture utilizing multiple data sources including:

Executive Partnership
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to identify reporting needs and business priorities.

  • Translate complex data into meaningful business insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Present reporting strategies, recommendations, and analytics to senior leadership.
