This hybrid Sales Engineer / Energy Manager role focuses on building optimization and energy management within a collaborative engineering and data analytics team. You will monitor building systems, analyze operational data, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption across a portfolio of facilities. In this role, you translate technical and analytical insights into practical recommendations, coach clients on data-driven decisions, and support the implementation of optimization strategies that improve building performance and reduce operational costs. The position is based out of a modern office in Olathe, KS, with an initial emphasis on on-site work and growing flexibility to work remotely as you become familiar with the systems, processes, and team.

  • Coordinate with engineers, facilities managers, and contractors to support the implementation of building optimization and energy management strategies.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of building performance baselines, trends, and improvement initiatives using company software and tools.
  • Support continuous improvement by tracking the outcomes of implemented changes over time and identifying additional opportunities for optimization.

  • Ability to read and interpret graphs, dashboards, and building system data.
  • Comfort working with data, including the ability to interpret trends, identify anomalies, and draw conclusions from building system metrics.
  • Experience or coursework in engineering, environmental science, data analytics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and summaries for diverse audiences.

  • Experience with data tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, or Python for analytics and visualization.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks or energy efficiency standards such as ASHRAE and related guidelines.
  • Experience in building automation systems, engineering, or technical sales that supports effective client engagement and solution design.
