Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into insights. The ideal candidate will have a background in data and business analysis, as well as solid experience in data modelling and reporting using Power BI.
This is a recent expansion to the existing BI team and is a great opportunity for profiles who are particularly strong in leveraging data to inform business decisions. You will likely thrive in driving change and user adoption of our BI solutions. A background in finance - or a strong understanding of financial processes and terminology - is a distinct advantage.
You will play a key role in our large-scale transition from legacy BI platforms to our new Microsoft Azure data platform, helping the business strengthen data-driven decision-making, performance management, and advanced analytics capabilities.
In this role, you will support BI initiatives in the U.S. with a particular focus on finance reporting and analytics, while serving as part of the global BI & Advanced Analytics team based at our headquarters near Copenhagen, Denmark.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
  • Gather business needs across functions, however with primary focus on Finance, and translate these requirements into technical specifications
  • Analyze and understand data and dataflow across source systems like ERP (M3/Infor), CRM (Salesforce), Financial Consolidation (TM1) and other systems like Success Factor etc.
  • Ensure that best practices for data modelling and reporting are consistently applied within Ambu USA, while maintaining a strong global perspective across the entire Ambu organization.
  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI semantic models and reports
  • Take active part in migrating legacy reporting and data from our old data platforms to our newly established MS Azure platform
  • Collaborate with the backend team, handing over technical specifications and ensuring good, solid and well performing end to end data and reporting solutions to business
  • Ensure high level of data trust and integrity
  • Maintain and support data analytics platforms, including testing, troubleshooting and ensuring updated technical documentation
  • Train users in Power BI reporting on all levels from report consumer to advanced report builder using DAX

Qualifications / Education:
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer with 5-7 years of experience in data modeling and report building
  • Excellent in user adoption activities like hosting BI community calls, Power BI training and other broad communication of BI news and updates
  • Strong technical understanding of multiple reporting tools such as Power BI and Salesforce Analytics
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration and Analytics or other relevant field preferred
  • Experience analyzing and documenting different systems, processes, and workflows
  • Accustomed to support and work in a project heavy environment with the ability to diagnose and solve problems quickly
  • Strong stakeholder and change management skills at all levels of the organization
  • Interest or experience in more advanced analytics using Python, Spark, R as well as how to leverage the use of AI in the space of BI and analytics
  • Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative and proactive
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving and service minded attitudeStrong knowledge and experience across the full Microsoft suite
  • Good base knowledge of the ETL process and data warehousing as well as experience with SQL
  • Stay updated with technological developments in the BI areas
  • Basic understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework and dimensional modeling
  • Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry preferred
