New York | Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite | Direct Hire


Please note: This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite in New York. Candidates must currently reside in the local area and must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder to apply!!!


We Place People is recruiting for a Business Intelligence Data Modeler Engineer II for a large, highly respected organization. This position will play an important role in building the data foundation behind enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.


The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on data modeling experience and can take complex business information and turn it into organized, scalable data structures. You’ll partner with both business and technology teams, working with data across areas such as HR, Finance, Risk Management, and other corporate functions.



The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role focused on designing and improving the data models that power enterprise analytics and reporting. You’ll work across multiple data sources and business functions, helping ensure information is structured consistently, performs well, and can be trusted by the people using it to make business decisions.


The position offers the opportunity to work closely with analysts, data engineers, application teams, and business stakeholders while contributing to broader data architecture, governance, and analytics initiatives.


Areas of Responsibility

  • Design logical and physical data models supporting enterprise BI, analytics, and reporting.
  • Build dimensional models, including fact and dimension structures and star schemas.
  • Translate business requirements into practical and scalable data designs.
  • Analyze data from multiple enterprise applications and identify relationships, dependencies, and integration requirements.
  • Work with business stakeholders to establish consistent definitions for key measures, dimensions, hierarchies, and reporting concepts.
  • Partner with data engineering and BI teams throughout design, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Evaluate existing data structures and recommend improvements to performance, usability, consistency, and scalability.
  • Assist with data validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation covering data models, definitions, lineage, relationships, and other technical specifications.
  • Incorporate appropriate data governance, privacy, security, and protection practices into data solutions.
  • Participate in Agile development activities while balancing multiple projects and priorities.


Experience That Will Be Valuable

  • Professional experience in data modeling, business intelligence, analytics engineering, data warehousing, or a related area.
  • Hands-on experience creating relational and dimensional data models.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture and concepts such as facts, dimensions, star schemas, relationships, and hierarchies.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing complex datasets.
  • Experience working with enterprise BI, database, analytics, or data warehouse platforms.
  • Ability to turn business requirements into clearly defined technical data solutions.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata, data quality, security, privacy, and data protection practices.
  • Experience working with business data in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, or Risk Management.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working within Agile project environments.
  • Professional services experience is a plus.


Location & Eligibility

This is a direct-hire opportunity based in New York area with a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.
