Job description

Helpful Heroes is a mission-driven home services brand within the BELFOR Franchise Group that connects homeowners with off-duty firefighters and first responders. Our model provides a trusted handyman solution for customers while creating meaningful supplemental income for the heroes who serve our communities. As a high-growth brand, the Franchise Business Coach (FBC) will play a pivotal role in helping franchisees manage this unique professional labor force and scaling our 'hero-led' service model.

The Franchise Business Coach serves as the primary liaison between the brand and franchise owners, providing strategic guidance and operational support to help franchisees achieve business success. This role focuses on driving sales growth, operational efficiency, profitability, brand alignment, and overall business development. The RBC partners closely with franchisees to identify opportunities, implement improvement strategies, and deliver training on systems, tools, and best practices. This position requires in-office presence in our Ann Arbor, MI location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for franchisees, providing ongoing operational and business support.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with franchise owners to evaluate performance, marketing initiatives, sales results, growth opportunities, and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as the brand’s subject matter expert for House Call Pro, assisting franchisees with the transition to and optimization of this Field Service Management platform
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with franchisees through coaching, strategic guidance, and business development support.
  • Coach franchisees on implementing grassroots marketing strategies and community-focused initiatives that align with the Helpful Heroes brand identity.
  • Maintain working knowledge of daily business operations, including systems such as QuickBooks and other operational software platforms used by franchisees.
  • Analyze financial and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with franchisees to identify trends, improve performance, and drive profitability.
  • Work closely with early-stage owners to analyze lead-to-sale conversion rates and technician efficiency to ensure a strong foundation during their first 12-24 months of operation.
  • Travel regularly to franchise locations to strengthen relationships, assess operations, provide coaching, and support business growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute annual conventions, regional meetings, training sessions, and company events.
  • Foster strong partnerships and collaboration between franchisees, BELFOR Property Restoration, and other BFG brand networks.
  • Support the onboarding and training process for new franchise owners.
  • Provide additional support to the Brand President, Director of Operations, and Franchise Development Operations team as needed.
  • Travel approximately 25–50% to support franchisees, attend meetings, and participate in industry events.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business operations, franchise support, consulting, or related industry experience.
  • Experience working with financial reporting, operational metrics, and business management systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Field Service Management (FSM) software preferred (House Call Pro, Service Titan, or Jobber)
  • Experience in a high-growth or start-up franchise environment is a plus
