Job Description


We are recruiting art teachers for early childhood and K-4th grades. At One River School our mission is to transform art education. We have 14+ schools across the county and we are now taking our innovative, curriculum, and programming to businesses, community centers, public/private schools, and many more. Teachers are supplied with all curriculum, materials, and supplies that you will take to your teaching locations.


We Need:

  • Art teachers that are able to travel across Bergen, Essex or Union County, NJ to bring One Riverโ€™s art programs to new communities

  • Studio Art Teachers Pre-K-Grade 4


Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience teaching art classes

  • BFA or BS Art Education or related field

  • Thoughtful communication skills

  • A passion for One River School's mission

  • MUST have reliable means of transportation to get to each location punctually

  • Based on applicants availability, travel to multiple locations

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate art lessons provided by One River School for a variety of community spaces at their location (libraries, community centers, after-school programs, retirement communities, camps, etc.)

  • Must be able to teach weekly sessions that can run from 4-12 weeks

  • Set up/clean up art lessons at the offsite location

  • Connect with all students to make for an engaging experience

  • Behavior management of groups

  • Ability to offer differentiated instruction to a variety of students

  • Ability to offer thoughtful feedback to students

  • Verbal Communication

You will teach one or more of a variety of proprietary classes that include the following subjects:
