Overview: 

The Hardlines Service Shop Associate will provide world-class customer service and support Scheels’ growth through efficient product assembly and repair. This role is responsible for being an expert in the assembly of a diverse range of merchandise, primarily focusing on hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear.

This role requires all associates to be at least 21 years of age due to compliance requirements for processing firearms.

Responsibilities: 

  • Efficiently provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: Firearms, scopes, archery equipment, Fishing reels, grills & smokers
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Archery repairs, including: full setup of a bow, tuning and repairs, cutting and fletching arrows
  • Firearms repairs, including mounting scopes & optics, bore sighting, set up packages for all gun shops
  • Ensure a clean and Professional Environment
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical equations
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays, and scheduled training meetings
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Leadership

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree from a 2-year college or technical school, or  1-2 years of related experience and training, as well as mechanical skills and knowledge.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates.  Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury. 
Schedule: This position will include 1-2 nights a week, Monday through Friday, 5:00 - 9:00 P.M, and every other weekend. Saturday shifts will vary between 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Sundays 11:00 - 7:00. On average, this position will be 15-20 hours per week.

Wage: $18. The rate posted is an hourly wage.
