Job Summary
The Project/Construction Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) infrastructure and service implementation projects. This role requires strong expertise in project management, transportation systems, and civil infrastructure, with a preference for experience working in Washington State or familiarity with its regulatory and delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management of BRT projects, from planning and design through construction and service start-up
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Oversee construction activities, schedules, budgets, and quality control to meet program objectives
  • Support development of operational readiness strategies, including integration of transit systems, facilities, and service delivery models
  • Manage procurement and contractor oversight, including performance monitoring and risk management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, with emphasis on Washington State requirements (preferred)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support service planning, passenger experience, and system performance improvements
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues related to scope, schedule, cost, and constructability
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role in transportation or infrastructure projects
  • Experience managing Bus Rapid Transit projects in different environments
  • Background in civil engineering, construction management, or transportation systems
  • Experience with bus and/or rail transit projects in Washington (highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods, construction processes, and contract management
  • Experience working within public sector or transit agency environments highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Washington State regulations, permitting, utilities, and transit delivery standards is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and stakeholders
