The Opportunity

Cherry Hills Country Club is seeking an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, an accomplished hospitality leader who will help guide and elevate every facet of the member's dining experience. This is a highly visible, floor-engaged leadership role for someone who blends polished hospitality instincts with sharp operational and financial acumen. The Assistant Director will be a present and approachable leader to both members and staff, setting the tone for service, mentoring the team, and continually developing programs that enhance the dining experience and grow dining traffic and revenue. The ideal candidate brings the confidence to lead in the Director's absence, the discipline to manage the details, and the warmth to make every member feel at home.

The Assistant Director provides leadership and supervision across front-of-house operations, including outlet managers, dining room and bar staff, captains, servers, bartenders, hosts, and seasonal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director of Food & Beverage and fellow managers to ensure a seamless, consistent membership across all outlets
  • Support payroll, scheduling, and staffing needs within the F&B department, balancing labor efficiency with service quality

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily operations across all food and beverage outlets in a manner that upholds Cherry Hill's tradition of excellence

  • Develop, document, and enforce standard operating policies and procedures across dining and bar operations
  • Preserve the Club's assets and ensure all facilities are maintained to model operating standards

  • Develop and execute creative programming, such as special events, themed evenings, wine dinners, and seasonal culinary offerings, that enrich the member experience and drive engagement
  • Address member and guest concerns with poise and professionalism, taking appropriate corrective action and advising the Director of Food & Beverage and/or Clubhouse Manager, escalating when necessary

Beverage & Bar Program

  • Oversee daily bar operations across all bar areas, ensuring high-quality drinks and consistent, polished service
  • Develop and maintain an engaging beverage program - cocktail lists, wine selections, and craft beer offerings aligned with member preferences and industry trends
  • Manage bar inventory, including ordering, stocking, and inventory controls that minimize waste and ensure cost-effective purchasing
  • Train, schedule, and supervise bartenders and bar support staff in partnership with the Director of Food & Beverage, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures
  • Enforce all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food safety, and licensing requirements
  • Maintain high sanitation and hygiene standards throughout all food and beverage operations
  • Conduct regular inspections to confirm that safety, sanitation, preventative maintenance, and operating standards are consistently met

Requirements

  • Proven ability to build positive member relations and maximize member satisfaction
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations and alcohol licensing requirements
