Beer Capitol Distributing, LLC, in Sussex, WI is now hiring a 1st Shift Warehouse Associate. The team members of Beer Capitol Distributing, LLC are committed, innovative leaders of the beverage industry through marketing, selling, distributing, merchandising, and servicing quality products to our valued customers. This position is responsible for the receiving and unloading of trucks, the organization and replenishment of back stock products in the warehouse, and the replenishment of products from back stock locations to pick locations. This position is also responsible for picking and staging customer orders.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Verify accuracy of incoming shipments and products; check and verify all pre-billed orders for accuracy
  • Assist with warehouse fulfillment manager with company product inventory counts
  • Remove empty pallets from replenishment area, separate by supplier, and relocate to proper holding location
  • Unload trucks and receive products into inventory
  • Input received products into the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Move products from receiving or storage areas to shipping, back stock locations, or to other designated staging areas
  • Place products on racks, shelves and rows according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code
  • Prepare products and stage products for replenishment
  • Stock and rotate product inventory in back stock locations in accordance with supplier and company quality and freshness standards
  • Pick and build customer orders accurately
  • Load outgoing delivery trucks with staged products
  • Complete daily log for order check ins and mis-pick orders
  • Other duties as assigned
Compensation: $20.50/hour.
Following 6 months of full-time employment, employees who meet performance and attendance expectations may receive a pay increase to $21.50/hour.
Schedule: Our 1st shift Warehouse Associate employees work 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, starting at 9am until approximately 5pm. (End times may vary based on business needs.)
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must obtain sufficient knowledge of company products to answer routine inquiries; Must obtain knowledge of supplier policies especially freshness standards and product markings
  • Must be able to consistently lift, carry, push and pull up to 45 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 175 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Experience with forklifts is preferred; ability to obtain company forklift and equipment certifications is required
  • Possess an analytical and mechanical aptitude
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organization skills
  • Possess good visual acuity at various distances with dimensional depth perception and color distinction
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely
  • Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and comprehend verbal and/or written communications
  • Ability to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers and customers in respectful manner
  • Ability to learn and operate all the necessary equipment safely
  • Ability to operate a computer, hand-held computer, voice picking commands and scanner
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of Post-Offer Pre-Employment Physical Assessment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required
Safety and Equipment:
  • Steel-Toed/ANSI Standard Shoes are required
  • Company uniform is required to be worn at all times
