Senior Application Technologist (Beverages) for Central & West Africa- Your future position?

Givaudan's Flavours Creation and Application (FC&A) team leads innovation in flavour development across diverse food and beverage categories. We are expanding our team in West & Central Africa and seeking aSenior Application Technologist - Beverages, based in Casablanca. You will report to the Flavours Technical Head for Maghreb, West & Central Africa. In this role, you will apply and evaluate flavours to help our customers create consumerpreferred beverage products, contributing to Givaudan's growth and leadership in taste innovation.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

Providing technical support for our Customers

  • Responsible for technical communications with Customers in the West & Central Africa region for Beverage applications, to contribute to winning briefs and successful delivery of projects.
  • Develop concept presentations and present flavours and flavoured drink products to Customers.
  • Work with our Customers to optimize their recipes.
  • Support our customers in trial productions of new recipes or implementing solutions from Givaudan.
  • Do customer visits, presenting ready-to-drink products or to support with customer trails.

Evaluation and selection of flavours

  • Apply and evaluate flavours for Beverages for relevant briefs.
  • Proactively monitor flavour performance and stability.
  • Select optimal flavours for projects according to all relevant requirements (taste profile, legislation, technical suitability, costs, etc.).
  • Prepare state-of-the-art flavoured products and samples for Customer presentations and capability demonstrations.
  • Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies.
  • Translate market trends into new product concepts and developments.

Innovation

  • Support in developing and implementing new Beverage technologies, by working with the wider teams and Innovation Centers within the region and the wider Givaudan.
  • Support marketing initiatives, train our commercial force, and Customers on our new capabilities.

Knowledge sharing and expertise

  • Serve as a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and Customers for Beverage applications.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with our key customers, and able to gain their trust and respect.

Maintain systems

Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished products and capture of profiles.

Prioritize safety

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment in accordance with Givaudan safety policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines.

Your professional profile includes

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or Science (Chemistry, biology).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience focusing on the Beverages category, in a food applications lab or production facility with a Flavour house or a
  • reputed company in the food ingredients sector.
  • Have a strong passion and interest for new flavours, foods, and well-developed tasting skills.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of most food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in Customers' food manufacturing
  • environment.
  • Basic understanding of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products and the ability to recommend flavour modifications based on performance.
  • Have excellent project management skills and able to manage complex development projects and briefs.
  • Expert technical problem-solving skills in specific beverage applications and basic skills in multiple applications areas.
  • A good awareness of market trends and ability to translate them into innovative products for key Customers.
  • Strong oral and written proficiency in the French & English languages.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player and comfortable with diversity.
  • Proficient in using common PC applications.
  • Able and willing to travel to support customers in the Central & West Africa region when required.
