Summary/ObjectiveThe Sr. Beverage Application Developer is responsible for processing development projects in the best possible way.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Develop new recipes for customer and innovation projects, develop matching products and further develop existing recipes.
  • Create and maintain recipes in SAP.
  • Maintain product-specific substance data in SAP.
  • Provide support in the optimization of the recipe portfolio in terms of cost structure, resource use and quality in collaboration with Recipe Management.
  • Ensure the correct and punctual execution of laboratory mixtures and the creation of product samples.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Sample Lab and Pilot Plant for the production of appropriate customer samples.
  • Taste developed products.
  • Arrange diverse tests on product shelf life and changes in collaboration with Product Science.
  • Discuss with and support the Technical Account Manager on customer-specific circumstances, recipe formulation and filling technology.
  • Collaborate with Technical Project Managers and Sales (discuss briefings, clarify questions usually for BtO processes, tasting, evaluate samples, selection of samples).
  • Participate in customer workshops in collaboration with Product Management, Technical Project Management and Sales; prepare customer samples and adapt the samples during the workshop.
  • Check the production recipe, process parameters and test plan.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a laboratory environment most of the time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. While performing this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is occasionally exposed to wet, warm, humid and cold temperatures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science or other related field
  • 6-8 years' experience in food & beverage development
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications

  • Advanced education/degree desirable
