Job description

TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

UNIT:  SHORT STAY PCU
CLINICAL INTERVIEW

Primary Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital

Unit Information:  8 bed unit Background in observation units, or MS/Tele units. Ability to read and interpret strips is required. Will have to take an EKG exam during compliance   Patient Ratio 1:4 
Observation unit. Anemia, Cellulitis, COPD, Dehydration, pre and post-op Urology and GI, Drips ( Cardiac Cardizem, Nitro ,Insulin, Heparin) Average stay up to 48 hrs. High amount of admissions and discharges

Desired skillset:  Hard worker, Resilient and Manages Change well, Social candidates: Able to manage independently and complete tasks timely, willingness to ask questions and collaborate with team and ancillary staff to ensure the best patient experience possible.  Positive attitude and flexibility with constant changes which can occur throughout a shift.

Required Certifications:  WI RN License, BLS. ACLS required-AHA or ARC. NIHSS highly preferred. Will have to take an EKG exam during compliance 
Minimum Experience: 3 years.  1 travel assignment REQUIRED

Float: to all inpatient units as needed- will float to IMC and CTU units

On Call/Call Back Requirements: Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed. Unit will typically low census in 4 hr increments and could ask for a traveler to work only 4 or 8 hrs of the shift. This is not considered to be on call.

Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend and every other holiday  

Charting Experience: EPIC REQUIRED.

Scrub Colors: any color

GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed.

During flu season, any traveler who declines flu and COVID vaccination is required to wear a mask at all times. This is an Aspirus policy, and compliance is mandatory (No exceptions). Failure to follow the policy may result in corrective action.
