What are some common challenges registered nurses (RNs) face when adapting to new healthcare technologies in their workplace?

Registered nurses often encounter challenges when new healthcare technologies, such as electronic health records (EHRs) or advanced patient monitoring systems, are introduced. Adapting to these systems can initially be time-consuming and may require additional training outside of regular shifts. RNs must balance learning new software with their primary patient care responsibilities, which can temporarily increase stress and workload. However, mastering these technologies ultimately streamlines workflows and improves patient outcomes, making the initial adjustment period worthwhile.

What type of RN gets paid the most?

Travel RNs and specialized nurse practitioners tend to earn the highest salaries among registered nurses due to their advanced skills, certifications, and the demand for temporary or specialized staffing. Critical care, anesthesia, and neonatal intensive care nurses also typically have higher pay rates because of the complexity and urgency of their work.

What are registered nurses (RNs)?

Registered Nurses (RNs) are healthcare professionals who provide patient care, educate patients and the public about health conditions, and offer emotional support to patients and their families. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and schools. To become an RN, individuals must complete an accredited nursing program and pass the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.
